ILOCANO-BASED MULTILINGUAL EDUCATION
This website is being reconfigured as the Ilocano language section of MULTILINGUAL EDUCATION/PHILIPPINES, in light of DepED Order No. 60 s. 2008. We will feature content to be developed in support of the implementation of the Order.
MULTILINGUAL EDUCATION SUPPORT BY ILOCOS NORTE PROVINCIAL BOARD
The Ilocos Norte Provincial Board passed Resolution No. 099-2009 on February 9, 2009, expressing support for House Bill 3719, otherwise known as the Gunigundo Multilingual and Literacy Bill.
This is in recognition of the worldwide experience that instruction through the mother tongue during the child's first years in school is the most effective learning method as it affirms the "values of the child and his cultural heritage enabling the child to develop critical thinking skills and cognitive development necessary to excel" in other areas of learning.
